THE LAKES OF COOL FLYNN
It was early one morning young Willie arose
and to his comrades' bed chamber he goes
Saying arise my dear comrades,
and let no one know
Its a fine summer's morning and bathing we'll go
Young Willie jumped in and he swam the lake round
Till he came to an island with deep swampy ground
Go back my
dear comrades, do not venture in
For there's bog's and deep waters in the lakes of Coolfin
It was later that morning Willie's sister arose
And straight to her mother's bed chamber she goes
Saying arise,
dearest mother, I had a strange dream
There's bog's and deep waters in the lakes of Coolfin
It was later that morning Willie's mother knelt there
Wringing her hands and tearing her hair
crying Willie,dearest
Willie why did you go in
For there's bogs and deep waters in the lakes of Coolfin
Twas later that evening his lover stood there,
her face it was sad she was crying for sure,
crying woe to the hour
young Willie jumped,
For there's bogs and deep waters in the lakes of Coolfin
