There is still a green park in Kelvinhaugh to this day where lovers and families still go on warm days.

On the banks of the river Clyde in Kelvinhaugh there are many houses, shops, factories.Years ago before the city of Glasgow expanded and invaded the area, Kelvinhaugh was a beautiful woods in sloping green fields down to the river Clyde.
Lovers would go their on spring and summer days to spend time on the banks of the river while others did their washing at the rivers edge.
Many a marriage and child was born from that first kiss in the Kelvinhaugh woods.

MARRY-ARRY-ME
AS I CAME IN BY KELVINHAUGH, THE SUN IT FAIRLY SHONE,
IT MADE TO BLOOM THE PRETTY FLOWERS, IN THE WOODS O' KELVINHAUGH,
I LAY DOWN AGAINST A TREE. TO REST MY WEARY LEGS,
WHEN THIS BONNIE LASS SHE CAME OVER, AND SHE DID SAY TO ME.
CHORUS
MARRY ARRY ARRY AH, MARRY ARRY ME,
MARRY ARRY ARRY AH, MARRY ARRY ME.
2
I SAID SIT DOWN MY BONNIE LASS, AND KEEP ME COMPANY,
I'VE A MIND TO SLUMBER, A WHILE UPON THE GRASS,
ONE SO BEAUTIFUL, I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE,
GIVE YOUR HEART TO ME, THEN I WILL ASK OF YOU.
CHORUS
3
THE SUN IT FLICKERED THOUGH THE LEAVES, SHE LOOKED INTO MY SOUL,
TANTALIZINGLY TEASING ME, STOLE ME WITH HER EYES,
THE FLOWERS DANCED IN GENTLE WINDS, HER HAIR CAME DOWN ON ME,
SWEETEST FLOWER AMONG THE TREES, MADE MY HEART TO SING..
CHORUS
4
PICKING UP HER BASKET, WE SAUNTERED TO THE CLYDE,
WASHING AND SCRUBBING, OUR CLOTHES BY THE RIVERSIDE,
SHE'S A BONNIE BLEACHER LASSIE, AND SOON WE'LL BE THREE,
LIVING BY THE KELVINHAUGH, CONTENTED WE WILL BE.
